as i was walking home that night;
i noticed a form as i passed through
                   the park where i used to swing
     &play with the shadows
                                              i can't seem to find anymore.

her hair flew as the winter wind gushed
                 making chills run up &down your body.
        &i noticed her smile shine in the dark.
   she wasn't wearing a jacket;
                                       but i could feel the warmth she felt.

as i stood on, watching as another form played.
       they held hands &ran around.
laughing their hearts out;
                                         making love real.
          i watched, as he pushed her on the swing;
singing the love song she wanted to hear.

a tear slid down my cheek as
                         my thoughts danced with the leaves
    floating down to the earth.
                       but the forms, they kept running
    as i reach out to try &touch them;
but they disappeared just like the shadows
                i can't seem to find anymore.
